Makha Bucha Day in Nan
Makha Bucha Day is an Buddhist event celebrated in Thailand (and some other countries in South East Asia) and it celebrated at the third full moon to celebrate the day that Lord Buddha began his teachings. In our area it was celebrated by 3 days of preaching by monks in day-time and 3 days of party in the evening with a temple fair. At the third day nearby villages gathered together to make tamboon, offering to the local temple. Each village presents his "tree" with offerings (mostly money). They all came in procession to the temple (like it was Songkran party) with music, food and drinks. A happy time was being had.
