On the motorbike from Dan Sai to Nan

Sunrise over Dan Sai
In the early morning I left Dan Sai, that was totally covered in clouds. I took route 2113 to Na Heao and made a stop about 20-km out of Dan Sai at a view-point where you can overlook the valley of Dan Sai. Time for a small snack and drink.

From Na Heao I took route 1268 along Phu Suan Sai National Park that is along the Thai-Lao border. You could take a nice detour and take route 1328 that goes thru the National Park.

Route 1268 also passes Phu Soi Dao National Park (also along the Thai-Lao border) and directly along the road is Phu Soi Dao Waterfall. For more motorbike trip reports in Thailand see MOTORBIKE TRIP REPORTS
And where you change from route 1268 to route 1241 you can also take the road to the International Border Crossing "Phu Soi Dao" to Laos. It is just about 15-km from the intersection.

So I followed route 1241 and route 1083 to Na Noi, passing a beautiful mountain area and crossing the Nan River. From Na Noi it is straight up to Wiang Sa and Nan city. At Na Noi you will be passing the famous "Sao Din Nan Noi" (Hom Chom), a kind of mini rocky mountains and historical site.
