Manhattans Restaurant (Pattaya, Thailand) CLOSED

June 2011 Manhattans Restaurant & Bar is a bit up-scale restaurant located on the hill between Pattaya and Jomtien. It is actually not the type of restaurant I would choose myself, but as a good friend of us celebrated his birthday we had diner there yesterday. The entourage and staff is of top quality as are the prices. Although must be said that they have a good choice of good quality beef. My starter was gratined "witlof" (chicory) with cheese. A nice Dutch dish that tasted very well. My main dish was a Lamb rack or actually Lamp chops. And they were of the best quality and with a very good taste that I have not eaten in Thailand yet. But at a price tag of about 850thb. My dessert was a Creme Brulee with ice-cream. The ice-cream was very nice, but the Creme Brulee was to dry and not hot on the top.

We had diner with 4 people, did drink 2 wine, 1 martini, 1 LongIslandIceTrea and 1 brandy. We did eat 5 starters, 2 main dishes and 1 dessert. With a total price tag of 5600 thb. Very nice ambiance, friendly staff but no live music in the so called "piano bar". Good but a bit expensive and for Thai standards actually very expensive.

They do serve a 3 course menu for 850thb and they do serve Thai food also although I would never recommend that in a restaurant like this. Be also aware of the fact that due to changes in the kitchen the menu is not 100% like it is on the web-site or like at their TV commercial at Pattaya cable TV.

If this is your style of restaurant have a look at "Poseidon's Wine Cellar" at Jomtien Complex.
